About
Greenwich Hindu Mandir was founded in March 1978 in the Royal London Borough of Greenwich, beginning as a small community of devotees who gathered in each other's homes for worship, satsang, and religious and cultural discourses. Over the decades, the temple has grown into a dedicated spiritual sanctuary, now housed at its permanent location on Bannockburn Road, serving as a vital center for Hindu worship and cultural preservation in Southeast London. The temple offers a comprehensive range of religious services including daily Aarti at 10:00 am and 7:00 pm, personalized and community-based puja and rituals, and regular devotional programs. Special weekly events include Hanuman Chalisa recitations every Tuesday at 7:00 pm and Bhajan Kirtan sessions every Saturday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The mandir also provides prasad distribution to devotees after prayers, creating a complete spiritual experience rooted in traditional Hindu practices. Greenwich Hindu Mandir serves as more than just a place of worship for the Indian expat community and British Hindus in London. It functions as a cultural hub offering volunteer opportunities, community service programs, and a platform for spiritual gatherings that unite souls across generations. The temple welcomes devotees every day during morning hours from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and evening hours from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with Wednesday being the Panditji's day off, fostering a living sanctuary where devotion transcends boundaries and traditions strengthen community bonds.
