Frankfurt Tamil Sangam (FTS) e.V.

Frankfurt Tamil Sangam (FTS) e.V. is a registered cultural organization established to preserve and celebrate Tamil heritage among the Indian expat community in Frankfurt and the wider Rhine-Main region of Germany. Founded by Tamil-speaking professionals and families who sought to maintain their linguistic and cultural roots while building new lives abroad, FTS has grown into a cornerstone institution for Tamil Indians navigating the expatriate experience in Germany. The organization embodies the spirit of sangam — a gathering place where tradition meets contemporary expat life, fostering connections across generations and professional backgrounds. Frankfurt Tamil Sangam offers a comprehensive range of cultural and educational programmes designed to serve the diverse needs of Tamil expat families. The organization hosts traditional festival celebrations including Pongal, Tamil New Year, and Deepavali, bringing together hundreds of community members for authentic cultural experiences. Language and arts programmes help children and adults maintain fluency in Tamil while exploring classical and folk traditions through music, dance, and literature workshops. FTS also facilitates community gatherings, networking events, and support initiatives that help newly arrived Tamil families integrate into German society while staying connected to their cultural identity. For Tamil-speaking Indian expats in Frankfurt, FTS represents far more than a cultural organization — it is a home away from home where the warmth of Tamil hospitality meets the practical realities of expat life in Germany. The sangam serves as a vital bridge between generations, ensuring that children born or raised in Germany develop a strong connection to their Tamil heritage while their parents find solidarity and friendship within a community that understands the unique challenges and joys of the expat journey. Through its commitment to cultural preservation, educational excellence, and community solidarity, Frankfurt Tamil Sangam has become an essential institution for Tamil Indians across the Rhine-Main metropolitan area.
