Onkar Foods & Spices

Onkar Foods & Spices has established itself as a cornerstone of the Indian expat community in Kitchener, Canada, bringing the authentic tastes and aromas of the subcontinent to families far from home. Founded with a deep understanding of the culinary and cultural needs of South Asian families, the store has built its reputation on sourcing quality ingredients that connect generations to their heritage through food. The name Onkar itself reflects a spiritual foundation, symbolizing the divine essence that transforms everyday cooking into an act of cultural preservation and family love.

The store offers an extensive range of authentic Indian groceries, including regional spices from across the subcontinent, fresh vegetables and herbs essential to Indian cooking, lentils and grains, specialty flours, traditional snacks and sweets, frozen foods, and religious and cultural items for festivals and celebrations. Beyond groceries, Onkar Foods & Spices serves as a community resource where customers can find hard-to-source ingredients for regional recipes, discover new products from the homeland, and receive knowledgeable guidance on traditional cooking methods and ingredient substitutions in the Canadian context.
