Kakulas Brothers Retail

Kakulas Brothers Retail stands as one of Perth's most cherished heritage grocers, serving the community since 1929. What began as a family-run specialty store has evolved into a beloved destination for authentic international ingredients, with a particularly strong reputation among Perth's Indian and South Asian expat communities. For nearly a century, the Kakulas family has maintained their commitment to sourcing genuine, high-quality products from across the globe, creating a trusted bridge between Western Australia and the culinary traditions of the subcontinent. The store offers an extensive range of Indian grocery essentials including premium spices, dals, rice varieties, flours, chutneys, pickles, frozen products, and specialty ingredients that are often difficult to source elsewhere in Perth. Beyond staples, Kakulas Brothers stocks regional specialties, festival essentials, cooking equipment, and hard-to-find ingredients that allow Indian expat families to recreate authentic home recipes. The knowledgeable staff provide guidance on product selection and usage, making the shopping experience welcoming for both seasoned cooks and those new to Indian cuisine. For Indian expat families across Perth and Western Australia, Kakulas Brothers represents more than a grocery store—it is a cultural touchstone and a taste of home. The store's enduring presence and commitment to quality have made it an essential resource for maintaining culinary traditions, celebrating festivals, and passing cultural heritage to the next generation. Whether preparing a daily meal or hosting a special celebration, the Indian community has relied on Kakulas Brothers for generations, making it a cornerstone of South Asian life in Perth and a gathering place where shared food traditions create lasting connections.
