Sydney Sindhi Association Inc.

Sydney Sindhi Association Inc. of New South Wales was informally established in 1989 and formally incorporated in July 1992, born from the vision of Sindhi migrants who sought to preserve their rich cultural heritage while building new lives in Australia. Representing Australians of Sindhi origin now residing across New South Wales, the association has grown from a small gathering of families into a thriving non-profit organisation that serves as the cultural heartbeat for the Sindhi diaspora in Sydney. As a proud member of the United Indian Association Inc., the organisation bridges the Sindhi community with the broader Indian Australian population, fostering harmony and mutual support among diverse cultural groups. The association provides a comprehensive platform for social, cultural, and educational activities that keep Sindhi traditions alive across generations. Members gather for traditional celebrations including Cultural Day, Teejri, and Thadri festivals, participate in Sindhi Radio broadcasts that connect the community through language and music, and engage in cultural programmes showcasing Sindhi food, clothing, and customs. The organisation offers membership opportunities for individuals and families, creates spaces for youth to connect with their heritage, and provides essential support services for new migrants navigating life in Australia. Through regular community gatherings, educational initiatives, and welfare programmes, the association ensures that the unique identity of Sindhi Australians flourishes in their adopted homeland. For Sindhi families across New South Wales, the association represents far more than a cultural organisation — it is a sanctuary of belonging, a place where the Sindhi language echoes through halls, where traditional recipes are shared between generations, and where the spirit of Sindhi hospitality creates lasting bonds. Whether you are a long-established Australian of Sindhi heritage or a recent arrival seeking connection, the Sydney Sindhi Association welcomes you into a community that believes deeply in humanity, celebrates its global identity, and honours the values that have sustained Sindhi people through centuries of migration and adaptation. Here, you will find your home away from home, surrounded by families who understand the journey of preserving cultural roots while embracing Australian life.
