Sydney Kannada Sangha Inc.

Sydney Kannada Sangha Inc. was established to preserve and promote the vibrant cultural heritage of Karnataka among the Kannada-speaking community in Sydney, Australia. Born from the collective vision of passionate community members, the organisation has grown into a cornerstone institution that bridges the geographical distance between Karnataka and Australia, keeping traditions, language, and values alive for generations of Indian expats. With a rich history of cultural stewardship, Sydney Kannada Sangha has become the spiritual and social home for thousands of Kannadigas who have made Sydney their home, offering a space where heritage meets contemporary Australian life. The Sangha offers a comprehensive range of cultural and educational programmes designed to serve the diverse needs of the Kannada community. From celebrating Karnataka's major festivals and organising classical music and dance performances to conducting Kannada language classes for children and youth, the organisation creates meaningful opportunities for cultural immersion and learning. Through Sydney Kannada Vani, its dedicated radio programme broadcast on 2RRR, the Sangha extends its reach across the airwaves, sharing music, literature, community news, and vital information on migration and settlement policies. The organisation also facilitates social gatherings, literary forums, and interfaith dialogue that strengthen bonds within the community while fostering integration into the broader Australian multicultural landscape. For Indian expat families in Sydney, Sydney Kannada Sangha Inc. represents far more than a cultural organisation — it is a sanctuary of belonging, a keeper of identity, and a bridge between two worlds. Whether you are a long-established resident or a newcomer seeking connection, the Sangha welcomes you into a warm community where Kannada is spoken, Karnataka's traditions are honoured, and lifelong friendships are forged.
