Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of Australia was incorporated as an Association under the NSW Associations Incorporation Act in March 2004, formally launching in May 2004 with the sponsorship of 30 Ekal schools. Born from a vision to transform rural and tribal communities across India and neighbouring developing countries, the Foundation achieved a significant milestone in July 2007 when it secured Deductible Gift Recipient status, enabling Australian donors to receive tax deductions for their contributions. Operating in close partnership with the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation of India, EVF Australia has grown into a vital bridge connecting the Indian diaspora in Australia with grassroots development initiatives that honour their heritage while creating lasting change in the world's most underserved communities.
